OVERVIEW OF THE D2-3 GRADUATE PROGRAM

The D2-3 Visa is the official visa issued to international students pursuing a Master's Degree at top universities and research institutes in Korea. The postgraduate training program typically lasts 2 years, focusing heavily on in-depth research, developing strategic analytical thinking, and enhancing practical professional capabilities.

Holding a Master's degree from Korea not only confirms excellent academic achievement but also provides a superior competitive advantage in the global labor market. In particular, international graduate students (D2-3) always receive many privileged preferential policies: opportunities to hunt for scholarships up to 100%, permission to work part-time for more hours, and extreme ease in applying for a D10 Visa (Job Seeking), E7 Visa (Professional Labor), or F2 Visa (Long-term Residency) after graduation.

Studying a Master's program brings extremely attractive scholarship privileges, an in-depth research environment, and is the shortest path to achieving an F2 long-term residency visa in Korea.

Compared to the undergraduate system, Master's students have a much easier opportunity to receive scholarships from 50% to 100% of tuition fees. Especially, if you participate as a research assistant (Lab) for professors, you will also receive additional monthly living allowances.

The program only lasts about 2 years. A Master's degree brings a huge settlement point advantage (point-based system), helping you easily apply for an E7 Visa (Professional Labor) or proceed straight to an F2 Visa (Long-term Residency) in the most favorable way.

D2-3 VISA STUDY ROADMAP

Phase 1: Preparation in Vietnam
Learn foreign languages and take the TOPIK 4 or IELTS 5.5+ exam (if studying in English). IKA will support you in contacting professors, orienting your Study Plan, and completing the application for an admission letter.

Phase 2: Research in Korea
Lasting 2 years. Students will study in-depth modules in the lecture hall and spend most of their time conducting research projects and writing theses in the Lab with the advising Professor.

Phase 3: Graduation & Settlement
Receive a Master's Degree. You are granted a D10 Visa (Job Seeking) or directly transferred to an E7 Visa for official work. Especially, a Master's degree adds very high points for the approval of a Green Card (F2 Visa) for long-term settlement.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To participate in the D2-3 Master's Study Abroad program, you need to meet the following basic criteria:

  • Academic: Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Vietnam or internationally. University Grade Point Average (GPA) of 7.0/10 (or 2.8/4.0) or higher. Still accept out-of-field applications (subject to additional school conditions).
  • Foreign Language: Korean language TOPIK 4 or higher. Or English IELTS 5.5 - 6.0 or higher (for 100% English taught programs).
  • Legal & Health: Ensure good health, no tuberculosis. No criminal record. No relatives residing illegally in Korea.
  • Financial: Minimum savings book of 20,000 USD according to Embassy regulations (IKA will support financial proof consultation with the highest pass rate).

COSTS & BENEFITS

Initial Investment Cost:
Total costs usually range from 150 - 250 million VND (depending on the scholarship level achieved). This cost includes: first semester tuition, admission fee, dormitory, airfare, and comprehensive document processing service at IKA.

Outstanding Benefits:

  • Scholarship Privileges: Opportunities to receive 50% - 100% tuition scholarships are very high. If you work as a research assistant (Lab), you can be exempted from tuition fees and receive a monthly living salary from the Professor.
  • Family Sponsorship: D2-3 system international students have the privilege of sponsoring their Spouse to Korea under the F3 Visa (Dependent Residency).
  • Legal Part-time Work: Permitted to work part-time up to 30h/week (higher than the Bachelor's system) during semesters and work full-time during holidays and weekends.

Mandatory Regulations: Complete all academic credits, pass comprehensive exams (if any), and successfully defend the Master's thesis to graduate on time.
